Golden Bean Awards 2024 · Winners & Medallists

The 2024 Golden Bean Awards produced 430 medals: 12 Golds, 22 Silvers, and 396 Bronzes across 12 categories. White Horse Coffee took the Overall Champion title, their third Gold-winning year after 2021 and 2023.

Below is every medallist we've imported from the 2024 results. Where the roaster has a current deal, it's one click to their store.

2024 was a turnover year at the top. Seven of the ten Gold-winning roasters were collecting their first Golden Bean Gold: Bean Cartel, Coffee Mentality, DiBella Coffee, Espresso Club Australia, Glee Coffee Roasters, Jahnus, and Peak Coffee Australia. Only White Horse Coffee, O'GaBee, and Black Bag Coffee Roasters had won Gold before.

Black Bag Coffee Roasters collected the most medals overall with 25, followed by O'GaBee (19) and DiBella Coffee (18). Coffee Mentality's MAYPOP blend won Gold in both Espresso and Small Chain Espresso: the same coffee, two categories.

Seven first-time Gold winners

In most years, the Gold tier at Golden Bean is dominated by returning names. 2024 broke that pattern. Seven of the ten distinct roasters who won Gold were doing it for the first time. Bean Cartel (Milk-Based), Coffee Mentality (Espresso + Small Chain Espresso), DiBella (Small Chain Milk), Espresso Club Australia (Decaf), Glee Coffee Roasters (Pour Over/Filter), Jahnus (Large Chain Milk), and Peak Coffee Australia (Super Automatic) all entered the Gold column for the first time. By 2025, every one of them repeated — suggesting 2024 was the year a new generation of Gold-tier roasters announced themselves.

White Horse Coffee: three Gold years and counting

White Horse Coffee's 2024 Overall Champion title came via the Elite category — the highest-bar entry class at Golden Bean. It's their third year winning Gold (2021, 2023, 2024), making them the most consistent Gold-level performer across our dataset. Only O'GaBee matches that three-year Gold span, but White Horse is the only roaster to have taken the Overall Champion title in those years.
