Who is Coffee Mentality?
Ian Abadiano founded Coffee Mentality in Brisbane in 2015 with a clear purpose: to give people fresh perspectives on how coffee is grown, processed, distributed, and brewed — so that every step is better for people, and better for the world. Headquartered in Woolloongabba, the roastery runs cafés at South Brisbane, Stones Corner, and a mobile van at West End Markets, alongside a wholesale social franchise model. Sourcing centres on the Philippines, where Coffee Mentality works directly with growers and supports urban farming programs. In 2025, that coffee earned Champion Coffee at the Sydney Royal Fine Food Competition. Abadiano was also named 2026 Coffee Industry Hero (Coffee Educator) at the Melbourne International Coffee Expo.
