Who is Merlo Coffee Roasters?
Merlo Coffee began in 1992 as a small CBD espresso bar. Dean Merlo had travelled through Europe and the US, and wanted to bring that espresso-bar experience home. Struggling to source beans good enough for his café, he opened his first roasting house in 1996. The family story runs deeper still. It started in Luigi Merlo's trattoria in Tirano, Italy, before the family moved to Brisbane in 1958. Today Merlo is roasted daily in Brisbane, family-owned and ethically traded, with beans sourced from across the globe. The range covers seven blends and nine single origins, and Merlo supports the Rainforest Alliance sustainable coffee program. More than 1,500 cafés and restaurants now pour Merlo, and you can have it delivered fresh on a subscription.
