Best Bean Deals

Better coffee, better prices.

We track prices across 300+ Australian specialty roaster stores and re-check the offers every week. You get to see what quality beans actually cost before you buy. One email, Friday morning.

How it works

1

We monitor the roasters

We subscribe to hundreds of roaster newsletters so you don't have to. We re-check roaster websites every week too. One source of truth instead of hundreds of emails.

2

We compare the prices

The Bean-o-Metre indexes every roaster's pricing against the market. You can see at a glance whether a roaster is Great Value, Market Rate, or Premium, so you know whether a “sale” is actually a good deal.

3

You buy direct

Click through to buy direct from the roaster at the deal price. We never sell coffee, hold stock, or get in the way. You're always buying from the roaster themselves.

The Bean-o-Metre

How their prices compare to 300+ Australian roasters.

We normalise every roaster's coffee prices to a per-kilogram basis, then compare them to the market average across all specialty roasters in our database. The result is a simple tier that tells you whether you're getting a good deal.

Great Value

Priced below the market average. These roasters offer genuinely good value — not necessarily “cheap,” but priced well below what most specialty roasters charge. When you see Great Value next to an award badge, that's the sweet spot.

Market Rate

Priced within 10% of the market average. No surprises — this is what most specialty roasters charge. Fair pricing for quality beans.

Premium

Higher-end pricing — often the top specialty names or micro-lot specialists. Premium isn't a criticism. These are typically roasters with competition-winning coffees, rare lots, or exceptional sourcing relationships. You're paying for quality.

The methodology

  1. We only compare kilo bags — the size that prices consistently, and the one bulk buyers actually pay
  2. We take each roaster's middle price per kilo across their blends, single origins and decaf
  3. We compare that to the middle price across specialty roasters. Subscriptions and supermarket brands are left out
  4. We assign a tier based on how they compare

The raw index numbers stay behind the curtain — you just see the tier and the percentage. Roasters who don't sell a kilo bag aren't scored.

Awards

We track results from Australia's largest coffee roasting competitions. Thousands of results, searchable by year, category and roaster. Roasters earn badges based on their medal results:

Gold Medal: Won Gold at the Golden Bean Awards
Award Winner: Won Silver or Bronze at the Golden Bean Awards

When you see an award badge next to a Great Value tier, you're looking at competition-winning coffee priced below market average. That's the sweet spot.
