Best Bean Deals tracks coffee prices from 300+ Australian roasters and sends a weekly deal digest. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
- Email address — when you sign up for our newsletter. That's the only personal information we ask for.
- Analytics data — Google Analytics (GA4) collects anonymous usage data like pages visited, time on site, and device type.
- Session recordings — Microsoft Clarity records anonymised session replays (clicks, scrolls, mouse movement) to help us improve the site. No personal data is captured.
How we use it
- Your email is used to send you our weekly coffee deals digest — nothing else.
- Analytics data helps us understand which pages and features are useful.
- Session recordings help us fix usability issues and improve the site experience.
- We never sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Cookies & analytics
We use cookies set by Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how people use the site. These are standard analytics tools used by most websites.
- Google Analytics (GA4) — measures page views, traffic sources, and user behaviour. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Microsoft Clarity — records anonymised session replays and heatmaps. No personally identifiable information is collected. You can learn more on the Clarity website.
You can block all cookies through your browser settings, though this may affect your experience on other sites.
Third-party services
We use a small number of trusted services to run the site:
- Supabase — stores your email address securely
- Resend — delivers our weekly email digest
- Vercel — hosts the website
- Google Analytics — website analytics
- Microsoft Clarity — session recording and heatmaps
Each of these services has their own privacy policy. We only share the minimum data needed for each service to function.
Data retention
- Email address — kept until you unsubscribe. Once you unsubscribe, your email is deleted from our mailing list.
- Analytics data — retained according to each provider's default retention period (14 months for GA4, 30 days for Clarity sessions).
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Request access to the data we hold about you
- Request deletion of your data
- Unsubscribe from our emails at any time (there's an unsubscribe link in every email)
- Opt out of analytics tracking using the tools mentioned above
