About The Wood Roaster
Kim Loupis grew up watching his father run a wholesale fruit and vegetable business. Hard work, traditional service, and strong relationships shaped how he'd build his own. The Wood Roaster began as a small Sydney café called il espresso. Customers wanted something with real character, so in 2009 Kim started roasting with wood for his own stores. Years of research and a custom-built roaster followed. He expanded into wholesale and contract roasting in 2011, then rebranded as The Wood Roaster in 2012. The roastery now runs from Marrickville on sustainably sourced ironbark timber. Single-origin coffees and blends are on offer, roasted with wood.
