About Fish River Roasters
Peter Harrison came back to Australia in 1997 and opened a café. There were no barista courses then, so he learned by reading, watching and pestering his coffee supplier for training. By 1999 he was unhappy with the quality he was being supplied. So he bought his first roaster and took control himself. That hands-on start still shapes Fish River Roasters. The team roasts specialty coffee in small batches, sourcing micro lots from around the world. The philosophy is simple: source the best beans and roast each variety to bring out its flavour and aroma. They're a regional roaster pairing quality coffee with technical servicing, and few regional roasters do both at scale. More than 100 cafés across NSW trust them. The coffee has won Golden Bean Event Champion honours and Sydney Fine Food Show medals.
