Who is STOKA Coffee Roasters?
STOKA started as a side-hustle. Husband-and-wife team Ronolo and Karlee King turned it into a full-time gig. Before that, they worked in bars and cafés around Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Then they came home to raise a family and surf more. Today STOKA roasts in Coffs Harbour, NSW, the couple's hometown. The aim is roasts "which reflect the area, and come from exciting coffee locations." Their approach is quality over quantity. Coffee comes from ethically sourced farms around the world, including Colombia. Each quarter brings new limited-edition single origins. They keep it simple, too. "Coffee doesn't need to be complicated," as they put it. Subscriptions are on offer. They're also working towards reusable, recyclable or compostable packaging across the business.
