About Lottie Lane

It started in 2014 with a 5kg roaster nicknamed Bruce, squeezed into the back of a small café in Hobart. For founders Chicko and Jess, roasting their own coffee was non-negotiable. They wanted the perfect cup for their customers. Word spread, and like-minded local cafés came on board. By 2018 Bruce had outgrown the café and moved to Moonah. The next year a 15kg machine named Delilah joined the team. Today Chicko leads the roasting, selecting ethically sourced green beans for the flavour of their origin, or terroir. The roastery doubles as a community space with a cellar-door feel, hosting barista training and sensory workshops. The single-origin, micro-lot roasts have collected medals along the way, including four awards at Golden Bean 2019.
