Who is Talo Coffee?
Talo Coffee sources all of its Colombian coffee directly. One of its founding partners has spent years building relationships with farmers in the Southern Huila regions of Colombia. Talo is a boutique specialty roaster based in Mermaid Beach, QLD. Alongside the direct Colombian coffee, it buys high-quality micro-lots from a variety of importers. The team brings experience in both coffee roasting and café management. The work goes beyond the bag. Bee Kind Coffee is a Talo-led initiative protecting native stingless bees on coffee farms. The San Luis Project is a community-led effort to restore biodiversity in the San Luis region of Southern Colombia. Talo is also supporting Moises, a grower who found burnt-looking spots on his Aji and Gesha plants in late 2023 and cut down four hectares of them to protect his Pink Bourbon.
