About Sipping Duck
Sipping Duck started in late 2012, when Erik Ruelin and Fiorella bought a sample roaster to learn the craft. They roasted on Saturday mornings before wood-fired BBQs with friends, talking ideas and playing business. Their first stockist was a small Palm Cove supermarket selling 75g bags to tourists. Within two months they put their combined savings into a roaster and a coffee machine. Today the roastery is family-run in Cairns, now owned by Fi and Lance. Erik moved on after seven years and remains a friend and founder. They source high-altitude, single-origin beans, roast weekly in small batches, and pack and grind to order. You'll find them at cafés in Stratford and Bungalow.
