About Primary Coffee Roasters
Primary Coffee began in 2017 with a small roaster and a clear purpose: good coffee without unnecessary complexity. The first year went into learning to roast consistently, understanding how different beans respond to heat and how to repeat results. By 2018, they had built relationships with producers in Ethiopia, Colombia and Brazil. Those relationships run on regular communication, fair pricing and long-term commitment. They remain the primary sources today. Now based in Marrickville, with a café in Potts Point, Primary roasts single-origin coffees chosen for balance and clarity. Small batches, roasted on-site each week, sent within days. Over 50,000 bags a year, still done properly.
