Who is Double Roasters?
Three founders started Double Roasters in 2011: James Brown, Gary Parkes and Scott Robertson. As café owners and operators, the business cites “a history of 15 successful cafés”. Today they’re specialty coffee roasters based in Marrickville. They began in a disused 1950s warehouse, training baristas by serving customers out front. That “training counter” grew into their flagship community café. In 2014 the roastery moved to a larger site in the same suburb, with automated packaging added. Their green coffee is ethically sourced. Café partners get weekly deliveries from the roaster, not third-party couriers. At home, you can buy from the online store or set up a subscription. As they put it: “Your success is our success.”
