Pixel Beans Coffee started in 2019, when its two founders had "the wild idea to roast their own coffee beans." Steve Ranahan is a food-loving chef. Chris Hansen, his son-in-law, is a gaming enthusiast. They spent most Saturday mornings over an espresso in Melbourne's cafés, then turned that habit into a business. Pixel Beans began as a family project, and its coffee is made in Melbourne. The blends carry gaming names: Power Up for classic espresso, Flawless Victory for premium espresso, and Double XP as a filter roast. Beta Blend is a Brazilian and Colombian blend. Subscriptions run for 3, 6 or 12 months, and there are pods designed to fit Nespresso machines.
