Blume Coffee
About Blume Coffee
Blume Coffee Traders started in 2018 with one goal: make specialty coffee approachable for everyday brewers. Founder Angus Gibbs came to it the long way. He trained at St Ali, Deadman Espresso and Seven Seeds in Melbourne, worked with green importer Silo, then moved to the UK and rose to production manager at Square Mile Coffee under Anette Moldvaer. Today the roastery sits in Abbotsford, Melbourne, on the spot where Blume's coffee cart once stood. It now holds a coffee bar, retail space and a small recording studio. The name is Scottish Gaelic for 'bloom', a nod to coffee that shifts with each season. Blume sources single-origin and ethically, with beans from Rwanda, Burundi and Colombia, and doesn't carry the same coffee year-round. They also share their roasting space with other Melbourne cafés as a co-roasting cooperative.
