Steven Nguyen was born and raised in Vietnam, where coffee is an integral part of the culture. He later settled in Sydney and worked in the Australian coffee industry. Then he hit a problem: he couldn't find authentic, high-quality Vietnamese coffee here. So he started Phin Coffee. Today it roasts in small batches in Sydney. The beans are sourced direct from farms in Vietnam's Central Highlands, grown in volcanic mountain soil. The focus stays on Vietnam, from Gia Lai to Lam Dong, Robusta included. As Vietnamese-Australians, the team is out "to bring diversity, inclusion to coffee culture." A proportion of sales goes back to Vietnam to support children and communities there.
