Who is Mclaren Vale Coffee?
It started with a chat over the fence. Carol and Jim told their neighbours they'd bought a coffee roaster and were about to start a business in their shed. Those neighbours ran a wine label and had been buying Carol and Jim's Shiraz. Later they built a new home for the roastery, then called Villeré, in amongst their winery and kitchens. When Carol and Jim decided to retire, the neighbours took over. In their words, "they were pretty big shoes to fill, but here we are." Today McLaren Vale Coffee Co. is a small family business based in McLaren Vale, South Australia. The roastery dates to 2006, and coffee is roasted weekly on a 15kg Loring roaster. The focus is single origin with full traceability. They only trade with importers who can provide visibility on all levels of the supply chain.
