Who is Freelance Roasting?
No Robusta. No sub-specialty filler. Freelance Roasting never bulks its blends with either. It's a café and coffee roaster born and based in Townsville, North Queensland. Everything it supplies is specialty grade, roasted to bring out natural sweetness and intensity of flavour. The range includes single origins alongside the blends. You can try it at two cafés: 1/58 The Strand in North Ward, and Heydays on Flinders St, which is also home to the roastery. The roastery's own line says it plainly: "Specialty coffee, roasted locally." Beyond the bags, the team handles wholesale coffee, machine servicing and workshops. Wholesale partners get regular barista classes at the roastery. They also get help choosing equipment to suit their workflow and budget.
