About Market Lane
Market Lane was founded in Melbourne in 2009 by Fleur Studd and Jason Scheltus. At the time, finding fresh, in-season, traceable coffee in Australia was practically impossible, and they set out to change that. Jenni Bryant joined in 2010 and became a co-owner in 2019, so the business stays independently owned by Fleur, Jason and Jenni. Today Market Lane roasts on a 45kg Probat in Brunswick East and runs nine shops across Melbourne. The sourcing is direct-trade and built on long-term producer relationships, with the price set by the producer rather than the commodity market. Seasonal, traceable coffee comes from Guatemala, Rwanda, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia and Ethiopia. A certified B Corp and carbon neutral, the team still works toward good coffee that's good for everyone.
