DC Coffee started with a gap. The Valmorbida family already imported Italian coffee for the food-service trade. What was missing was coffee roasted locally. So in 2002 they built a roastery in Preston, Melbourne, then grew it across the country. As Melbourne earned its name as a coffee city, DC shifted toward specialty. It also doubled down on what set it apart: music, art and creative chaos. Today the beans are single-origin and direct-trade, roasted in small batches. The blends carry illustrated alter egos and names like The Darkness and Critical Hit. Big on taste, bang-on value.
