Who is Coffea Coffee?

Fabio Costa spent 10 years as a Master Roaster for a famous Melbourne coffee pioneer. Then he opened his own place: Coffea Coffee Torrefazione Bottega at the Queen Victoria Market. The name explains the idea. "Coffea" is the Latin name for the coffee genus. Torrefazione is Italian for a place where coffee is roasted, and a bottega is an artisan's workshop. That café has since closed. The coffee hasn't stopped. Coffea Coffee still supplies beans and equipment through its website. Their coffee is hand roasted, in small batches, on a traditional drum roaster. Roasting by hand rather than by computer lets them respond to the conditions in the air and to the beans themselves. Choose from blends, single origins, organic and decaf, whole or ground to suit how you brew.
