Abrisca Coffee Roasters

Who is Abrisca Coffee Roasters?

Abrisca grew out of a coffee machine repair business. In 1996 Wayne Baker established Koffee-Tek Pty Ltd to repair and service coffee machines around Brisbane. Out in the field, he saw customers needed a supply of coffee as well as servicing. So in 2002 Wayne sourced a coffee roaster and established Abrisca in East Brisbane, Queensland, where it roasts today. Its About page says it was "an immediate success", winning "multiple coffee roasting awards". The method is careful. Every origin is sample roasted to different profiles, then blind cupped to find the profile that highlights the qualities Abrisca wants. Production runs on a 1984 Petroncini roaster, and each origin is roasted individually. Today Abrisca supplies blends and single origins to cafés, bakeries and other businesses nationally.
