About Toby's Estate
Toby's Estate began in 1997, when coffee-loving lawyer Toby Smith swapped legal books for coffee cups. He travelled to remote coffee-growing communities and saw the work behind every bean. Back home, he turned his mum's garage into a mini roastery and learned the craft. From that start, Toby's Estate now roasts in Chippendale, Sydney, with cafés in Fitzroy, Melbourne and Newstead, Brisbane. A team of more than 100 tastes and tests every batch for quality and consistency. It releases over 80 single origins a year, sourced directly from farmers. Small-batch roasting and seasonal single origins remain the focus. Espresso, filter, blend and office subscriptions start from $18.
