Who is Timor Mountain?
"We don't just visit origin, we live and work there." That line sums up Timor Mountain. The team is based in Ermera district, Timor-Leste, some 500km north of Darwin. Each year they work with their growers to bring in the harvest. They produce and export the coffee there, then roast and sell it in Australia. Since 2013 they've built a network of over 350 farming families. Their mission is plain: to "increase the income of Timorese farmers through a sustainable market focused approach." The coffee is single origin Arabica, grown at 1,400 to 1,700 metres in shaded mountain forests without chemical fertilisers or pesticides. It includes the Hibrido de Timor, a variety discovered in 1927 that now underpins international coffee breeding. Orders of 1kg or more ship free.
