Since 1969, the aroma of hand roasted coffee has filled Carlisle Street in Melbourne. That is The Coffee Company's own line, and it still holds. After 50 years of artisan roasting, the family run store is now home to proprietors and roasters Marlon and Joel Dubs. Every day they roast and hand blend specialty beans from leading growers worldwide. Green beans move through a nine silo handling system before they reach the small-batch drum roaster. The range runs to over 50 single origin, blended and green bean coffees. Carlisle Tea, their own label, adds over 100 loose-leaf teas and infusions. Java Express, a signature blend, has been around for decades; Karamel Tiger is a newer customer favourite. The belief behind it is simple: everyone should be able to enjoy the freshest artisan coffee and teas, everyday. Nothing sits in a warehouse. They roast to meet demand, and what they retail is what they wholesale.
