Who is Roasters with Altitude?
Buy a bag here and the profits go to a learning centre in Timor-Leste. Roasters With Altitude is a small boutique roaster that roasts in the Blue Mountains of eastern Australia. It was set up "to help farmers find markets". Profits go directly into running the Timor Learning Centre, which the team built in Timor-Leste. The Centre includes an English school, a women's sewing centre and a gymnasium, and employs ten Timorese staff. The beans are Arabica from Timor-Leste, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Colombia, Brazil and Australia. Timor-Leste is its specialty. The roaster says it deals directly with farmers when choosing beans, and looks for coffee "ethically farmed from organic and sustainably grown crops". If you want your coffee money to do a bit more than fill the cup, this one is worth a look.
