Who is Red Parrot Coffee?
Mike and Debra Roycroft came to coffee with "deep roots in hospitality". In 2014 they brought their Australian-owned family business to Newcastle. It later grew into a roasting facility in Islington, where the beans are roasted in-house. Mike has 35 years in the industry, and the roasting has had mentorship from Q Grader and championship judge Craig Simons. Debra's experience in cafés and food rounds it out. Today the team of champion baristas and roasters offers 23 blends. You'll find them at the Parrot Espresso Bar and online. Sourcing runs wide: Brazil, Colombia, Guatemala, Ethiopia, PNG, Yemen and more, with single origins next to the blends. Organic, fair-trade and Rainforest Alliance options are part of the range.
