Locale started in 2015 with a small crew, a love of coffee, and a focus on building relationships. In 2018 it joined the Genovese coffee family, a 50-year-old, family-owned Melbourne company. That move was a chance to reset, and to rethink how the coffee got sourced. Today Locale roasts in Melbourne, with outposts in Brisbane and Perth. It pays farmers the price they set, rather than negotiating it down. Where it can, it sources direct from the farm, especially for its blends. Every coffee is specialty grade, scoring 80 or above on an independent cup. The team is carbon neutral and treats environmental responsibility as part of the job. Rotating single origins and microlots sit beside blends like Original Gangsta and The Real MVP. Free shipping applies on orders over $100.
