"Simplicity — it's a seriously underrated thing." That is Ground Control Coffee Roasters' own line, and the whole operation runs on it. Good coffee, good company, and a slower minute in the day. The crew roasts in the Northern Rivers of NSW. Headquarters is an industrial warehouse in Tweed Heads South that doubles as roastery and espresso bar. Everything is hands-on, from production through to distribution. Beans come through wholesale cooperatives and directly from farms at origin wherever possible. They hold a stated preference for organically grown coffee. Sustainability, in their words, is something they "take very seriously". The range covers blends, seasonal blends and single origins. Roasts run medium, medium dark, dark and filter. A subscription saves 5%, and shipping is free on orders over $60. Locals can drop into the espresso bar Monday to Saturday, or book a barista class.
