About Flying Chaff
It started in 2014 as a laugh. Three friends hired a small coffee roaster for a bit of fun, and the chaff went flying. The fun turned into a passion for bold, complex flavours. They bought a non-functioning commercial roaster and named him Golden Boy. They stripped him to a bare shell and rebuilt him with new motors, controls and a gas train. By the end of 2020 he was certified and roasting. Based in Adelaide, The Flying Chaff now roast single-origin coffee from Brazil, Colombia, Ethiopia and El Salvador. Small batches, driven by flavour. Their beans have won the Champion Espresso Trophy at the Royal Adelaide Coffee Show, and they've supplied Government House. They call the result TFC: Tasty Freaking Coffee.
