In September 2016, Dan signed the lease on 59a Bray St and set out to build his own coffee roastery. It started modestly. He won over locals with coffee they had not had before, and the space grew into a community hangout. In 2023 it took the name Bray St Coffee Roasters to keep things local. Today the roastery air-roasts its beans through a technique of its own, turning out freshly roasted coffee for the café and for home. The beans are sourced from South America, Africa, India and Papua New Guinea, each held to one quality standard. The Organic and Fair trade Peru is the standout single origin. Customers call it some of the best coffee in Adelaide.
