About b3 Coffee
b3 coffee opened as a roast house in 2016. Ben Laakmann set up on the main street in Blackwood, South Australia, with a plan to roast and sell ethically sourced, specialty-grade coffee. Demand grew, and the roast house became a coffee shop, somewhere to try b3 in person. The roasting later moved to Somerton Park, and in 2018 Shana Knowles joined as co-owner. Ben and Shana still work in the business today, alongside their team. The values haven't changed: coffee, quality and community. They've also reworked their packaging with partner Grounded, moving to bags made of roughly 70% recycled material. b3 roasts weekly on Tuesdays and sends orders out the next day. There's a subscription if you'd rather not think about reordering.
