How much do you have to spend for free postage?

You find a 15% code. Then checkout adds postage, and the saving is gone.
It's one of the most common complaints when Australians compare roasters. "Biggest problem I find is getting done on postage costs," one person wrote on Reddit. Another asked for exactly this: a list of roasters, their shipping thresholds and any promos.
What it takes to ship free
182 roasters we track offer free shipping above a set spend. The middle of that range is $75. The two most common thresholds are $100 (30 roasters) and $60 (29). Only 22 ship free from $50 or less, and 46 make you spend $100 or more.
Number of roasters, out of 182 with a free-shipping threshold on Best Bean Deals. Median $75. The labels mark the two most common thresholds.
Do the maths before the discount
A threshold can change which deal is better. Say you're spending $50. A 15% code saves $7.50, but if that roaster charges $10 postage below $75, you pay $52.50. A roaster with no code that ships free from $40 charges you $50.
So compare the total at checkout, not the size of the discount.
The lowest thresholds we've found
Coffee Supreme ships free from $25, Constance Coffee from $30, and San Pedro Coffee and Caffè Ducale from $35. Each of these offers was checked in October.
Thresholds change, so check before you pay. Our picks below show what each roaster is offering right now.
