Who is Karmee Coffee?
Karmee began as a family business in 1999, and the family is still running it. Sara (mum) is the master roaster. She brings years of know-how on how beans pair and blend. In the roastery's own words, given when they started, "she's a bit of a pioneer for women in coffee." Paul (dad) was the first machine technician and still oversees the techs today. Pete (son) handles brew recipes, barista training and workflow. They roast in Artarmon, Sydney, about 5km from the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Retail is 100% online, with free delivery on orders over $80. Wholesale clients are looked after in person. The roastery also runs a community chaff program. Locals use the roasting chaff to fertilise their garden beds. Hessian coffee sacks are free to collect, too.
