The menu at Pound Coffee Roastery never sits still. Being small lets them buy small micro lots, so the range changes "quickly and often". Pound is a small, independent family roastery based in Fremantle, Perth. Specialty green beans are roasted in small single-origin batches, each one by hand. Justin looks after the beans, and Irene hand foils each bag on an antique John T Marshall hot foil press. The aim is to "keep it fresh, honest and handmade." They see their job as doing justice to the growers, whose hard work happens "on a mountain somewhere a long way from here." Businesses can buy wholesale too, with in-house or on-site training tailored to their needs.
