About East Coast Roast
East Coast Roast started as Queensland's first coffee cart, parked at Griffith Uni in the early 2000s. Back then it was called Cre8ive Coffee. New owners took over in 2023 and rebranded it as East Coast Roast. The roasting still happens on the Gold Coast — 100% of it, in Ashmore. The company is family-owned and fully Australian-owned. It now supplies more than 200 Gold Coast cafés, and runs two of its own in Nerang and Ashmore. The coffee has picked up a Golden Bean Australia award for best milk-based coffee along the way. You can get it delivered too: 1kg of freshly roasted beans each month, free shipping, from $60.
