About Artem Coffee Roasters
Artem started with a trip to the coffee farms of Kona, Hawaii. Darren, a fine dining chef and baker, came home with a new mission: to master roasting. He honed his skills in Melbourne, worked with established roasters in Perth, then bought a second-hand roaster and began roasting small batches in his father's garage. In 2016 he and Tracey, who brought years of specialty coffee experience, founded Artem. They began as a mobile coffee cart at events across Western Australia, opened their first permanent home in Mt Pleasant in 2018, and now roast from an elevated space in Applecross. The approach stays the same: the discipline of a chef, the soul of a barista, and a never-ending pursuit of the perfect cup.
